Jeremy Clarkson, the man drives me crazy, ever since I started reading his book's, I've realized how much I want to be like that man...Yes opinionated and pig-headed, but also ridiculously observant and quick witted. I thought I'd profile some tracks from Siriusmo, swing beating prince of Berlin.

Info on him is scant online (oh for the day when Germans will be allowed access too Wikpedia), so I guess I'll let his music do the communicating.

In my opinion, he's way better than that mono-browed freak Boys Noise, and just ahead of Modeselektor. It is also rare for an electronic artist to have such unique and easily identifiable traits in there music, especially in an industry of imitators and copy-cats.

Barry mentioned that he was loving some "Real Music" that was given to him recently, I think it was Roy Ayers and some other Rhythm and Blues legend, sorry the degradation of my short term memory seems to be only over-shadowed by the collapse of my long-term memory.

In turn I said "Damn thats my school, son!", so here are some gems all fans of music should have just to remind themselves that unfortunately music will never be like this again.

First up are a couple tracks from Cymande a jazz, funk and soul band formed in London, but did tour the states with Rev. Al Green and reached no. 20 on the R&B charts in the early 70's.

Bra was sampled by De La Soul/Prince Paul on Three Feet High and Rising, in the good old days when you could sample what you wanted without fear of lawsuits.

The next is from Darondo, still performing in his native San Francisco and it's a little more down tempo, but one of the more heart wrenchingly beautiful soul tracks committed to tape.

I recently heard this at the end of an episode of Breaking Bad, so if you know the show it captures the mood of a meth cooking, science teacher with lung cancer who does what he does in order to provide for his family.

Kind of downer but the beauty of the track disperses the depression effortlessly, one of my favourite songs and I'll take that too the grave.

The last track is some Afrobeat, this track sparked my interest in the genre when I heard it in The Last King of Scotland, It sparked my interest in the genre and I've since been hoovering up any old Afrobeat tracks that will venture near me, but not quite like this guy Duncan Brooker.

An article on his record collecting scavenger hunts in north africa is here, give it a read it's rather inspiring and reminds me of Lapse and I's, old scavenger hunts in Durban, digging through dead peoples stuff for records and wondering how we could play our 78's.

As far as music bloggers go, I think I'm not a very good one. See "real" music bloggers should get the latest and greatest tracks up on the blog before the artists themselves have even heard the final master copy... well that's the general vibe around it. So one of my bestest things about SA, is that we are very backwater, we catch onto things late and we tend to only do things, if they fit into our boxes of "cool". Everyone has to be inside a box, emo, alt, hipster, raver, jock, rapper...blahblahblah. Gone are the days where you can listen to more than one type of music, maybe its a youth thing, maybe when you get older you learn to appreciate more and realise that whoa I understand what the person is trying to get thourgh with this music..or maybe not. At the moment U have a large amout of respect for anyone who steps onto the stage and preforms or dj's or raps, its fucken scary. So please kids get over yourselves and try be more understanding. My friend Malope Makola and his friends seem to think the same thing....well about Hip Hop at least, but instead of moan about it they instead decided to shot a short docci abou how they felt. It was shot with a budget of "Seven Rand" so dont expect a master pic, but I will tell you one thing the contents of this little project is amazing. After watching this we plan to do a range of docci's on all the sub-cultures in and around Jozi..

In order to promote The Assembly's "Discothequé" nights, the good people that think of friday beyond saturday and before thursday, had the idea to promote the evenings, it's dj's and it's kaleidoscopic sound through a series of mixes and here is 001 of 999.

Obviously reaching the milestone of 999 in the mix series is reliant on whether music is not outlawed and banned on February 12th 2012, which was predicted by the ancient Egyptians, the more recent Aztecs, Nostradamus and John Edward McGee.

The mix is a light affair of Pop, Electro, Electro-Pop, Pop-Pop/Electro, and Acid Jazz, mixed by Lapse and Belushi.

We met these two wonderful gent's at our first gig, which turned out to be their first too. And since then we have become the biggest of friends. Barry and Kat, known as Musical Chairs to the masses, are two rather talented young men, who love to bring the noise.
As part of the ChopDownTheWoods event, Musical Chairs are one of the heavy hitters planning to make you dance your faces off. ChopDownTheWoods plans to be one of the most interesting parties to happen in Jozi in the last couple of months.

The 11th of July see's the start of a new set of Infamous party's known as ChopDownTheWoods! These party's aim to put Jozi and the rest of Africa back onto the fun side of partying with there lovable mascot ChopperTheBear. Who has already stolen the hearts of many with antics on facebook.
The line-up for the event is impressive enough and rather daring, featuring only new name acts, that are individually trying to reshape the party scene into what it should be about...FUN... The line up includes those crazy kids from Team Uncool, capesuperstar Orlando Doom ( who we rage about all the time), ShuffleShame and those awesomely loud trouble makers Musical Chairs. Also joining the line up is Chinxxx the visual demon of the Jozi party scene adding some much needed femininity to the rooster.
Finally ChopperTheBear himself will be making a drunken appearance to tide over his horde of adoring fans.
Fatchineseboi will be dropping all kinds of goodies at the party as well as doing interviews with all of the acts preforming, also droping some of their mixes and tracks to get ya'll excited! Also we will be doing interviews at the event itself to get a response and feel for how the SA scene kids party it up!

	The Walking Dead. Scientific name Homo Coprophagus Somnambulus. A deceased human being who has partially returned to life due to undeterminable causes. The brain retains base facilities, namely gross motor function. In its near-mindless state, it grasps no remains of emotion, personality, or sensation of pain. In rare cases, some of the reanimated have reflexively preformed routine activities from their past lives. The rotting bodies of the undead operate on a fraction of the level at which our bodies normally function. Circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems are unaffected by reanimation. Labored breathing, choking, and moaning are reflexive but no oxygen is carried through the blood. The nervous system functions primarily within the brain and brain stem. Sensory reception is minimal at best and seemingly unecessary in the pursuit of prey. The undead are incapable of fatigue and will persist at any cost. Shit, I've been so despondent about the scene lately, the music is stale, the crowds are 2 dimensional, and all the good artists are so bored they keep churning out dub-step. If I had all the bandwidth back after accidentally downloading dub-step, I'd be so flush I'd be able to download the entire backcatalogue of Elton John, which doesn't sound like to bad an option compared to other shit I've been sampling.

Along the way , the music stopped being fun to me when every extended break was used, and all the build-ups sounded like brrzzttt, zffffffftttt, eeeeeeee, krrrrrrring, bkkkkkkyyyy, chik, chok, .......... boom, womp, womp, womp.

You can only do the trick so many times before it sounds tired, it is supposed to create anticipation, like misdirection in horror movies before a jump scare. But if every movie had a jump scare every 15 mins, no one would be scared of them. They would be predictable, it's the silence in those breaks that sucks the most it's an old pop trick, used in songs to force people to listen and think "is the song over?", before it folds back into it's formulaic "yeahs" and "woops" again more forced misdirection.

Dj's won't even say they play fidget when they do because of the sheer embarrassment of the scene, rather either saying they playing Jacking House or Electro, I doubt we'll ever see timeless music again, I guess it's the natural progression of all art-forms.

And then I saw this video, which sparked my interest again, the same way "Mars" did when i heard it on The Count and Sindens Radio 1 mixtape January '08, the same way "Underground (Busy P Remix)" did when I was fed-up with banging music after hearing Boy-8 bit's massively disappointing "Suspense is Killing Me" Ep.

Now "Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs" are willing to not take them seriously at all, their name is the biggest joke of all as they know their days are numbered, without releasing anything yet, well an E.P. "All In One Sixty Dancehall" soon to be available on Greco-Roman. But I've said enough, I won't play anything banging anymore, and electronic music is releasing it's last exhale any minute now, I won't blog anymore about dance music, and frankly I'm fucked off because I won't be missed, well not being missed by spirits, it's all bullshit and shallow anyway.

Well I'm officially freaked the fuck out, while I was noshing some cereal this morning in my underoo's, a sleeve with the above artwork and a cd with the below track slid under the front door to my apartment.

They murmured through the door something in what sounded like a garbled text to speach

And after a few fear drenched minutes elapsed, I worked up the nerve to venture closer to the door and collect the parcel.

I have no idea who decided to fill me with dread, besides it's name 'Machette Jacobite', but I know one thing this person/thing that made the delivery is most definitely a time traveling bounty hunter of some kind and that they have made the grave error of letting me know they want me dead.

I will prepare so fucking hard for our encounter. I will sharpen my blades, learn jeet kune do, practice my Shoryuken's and listen to Queen's who wants to live forever on repeat.

So the war has begun and to quote a good friend and idol of mine Tyrone Biggums:

Since i have the Squid Flu this week, my sense of imagination and humor has been adversely affected... meaning all i can muster are the facts.

Alex Metric. The dude makes amazing music.

Way back when i first heard a granule of his work i passed it off as more gay 80s sounding synth pop... then i heard his remix of Evil Nine and that all changed... as i heard more and more of his work i then realised how great his music really is. Now i dont think I could make a playlist without at least one of his tracks innit... meaning he's now one of my favourite Musicians out at the moment.

Thats why Im really excited about his "Head Straight" EP out on the 18th of May. The title track, Head Straight, i must admit is that gay 80's synth pop stuff... that i aint feelin, but the other 2 tracks "now what?" and "Shirley, you cant be serious" are amazing.

It’s these 2 evil, undead gnomes, that have have somehow climbed into the intestinal chambers of 2 friends (Magnum Hifi & Kid Colt) of mine and pilot their bodies to do unstoppable acts of evil.

Right now they are breaking into local club promoters houses while they sleep and hypnotising them into hiring only “Grave Danger” for any gig available. Any gig, I mean right now Grave Danger are playing everywhere and anywhere spreading their audio filth to unknowing revellers (wise up dickheads you're dancing to the devils music).

Spoek mention above his mix was dedicated to his friend Shawn Mortensen, who sadly passed away, about a week ago. Shawn is actually how I meet Spoek. We worked together with Shawn on a Nike AM90 video which starred Spoek, it was a rather unique experience for me which I really enjoyed. Shawn was an extremely talented and gifted person, who got along with everyone he met. My only regret is that I never got to spend more time around such an Individual, as he inspired me to better myself and find the small pleasures in life. Our wishes are with all of Shawn's family and close friends at this time.

Zombies, Zombies Everywhere But Not a Brain to Eat.

In the future all music, movies, artists and literature will have something to do with Zombies according to current popular trends. But as long as it's as good as it has been in the last couple years bring on the apocalypse,

I'm proud to be a zombie biscuit.

Zombie Disco Squad are two young Djs from London (I heard 1 of them was born in Durban but moved to the U.K. as a wee babe, but can't reveal my source as it would appear as shameless name dropping), they are approaching the scene from such an acute angle, their music seems to cross various genre boundaries liberally and without passport every season. I guess it's house based rhythm that is stripped bare, fed with meaty miami bass while peppered with lashings of Baille Breaks and Tribal drums and vocals.

Their music has always kept me interested, I'm always keen to hear in which direction they have taken with every new song or remix of theirs I uncover. They have probably had the most staple track I've ever held onto in my sets (in an age where music isn't pasteurized and the interest expires before tracks are released), their remix of Kids On Vacation. That first break forever thrills me, and they show house music in it's true light since "House" has been a dirty word for so long. If I owned the "Kid's On Vacation" single on vinyl, it'd be ratty, warped and it'd hiss at you like an angry cobra every time the needle dropped.

We might someday see them on our shore's since their padre' Mowgli was here earlier this year, and would gladly

let them nosh my brain for evening.

Dam, can ya'll believe we this far in the year already? So I’ve been away for a couple of weeks...

...and it is sure as hell is hard leaving all the work to someone else. Even though I trust that person, Barry, emphatically I feel really guilty. I kind of left him without backup for a while, well actually the last couple of weeks. For those of you who don’t know, I work in film industry and am currently working on a local drama series (3 months out and about around Jozi). Which as usual means more times than one that there is more drama behind the camera than in front of it. Over worked and under paid, the stable diet of any creative in South Africa. Has left me rather knacked over the last couple of weeks, meaning the delay in our latest mix and a couple of other things that have been on the To-Do-List for “Fatchineseboi”. Nonetheless we have rather big plans for our little Blog in the coming year. We already have our two new Fatboi's Belushi and Lapse and I hear little whispers of big things to come in June…But seeing that this here is a Blog about musik here are some photos from the last couple of weeks and some tracks that were running around in my head during the events…

According to one eye-witness/fisherman who had this to report "They clashed after Bambaataa got lost in an attempt to finally locate the mythical "Zulu Nation" landmass, he seemed to awake Godzilla entirely by accident. It was a shocking and brutal image, but I'm glad Gojira defended our island and nations pride valiantly".

This will send planet rocking shock waves through the 5 burroughs this evening as the dire news is slowly digested, and candlelight vigils will be held by Melle Mel and Grandmaster Flash.

When interviewed, Biz Markie seemed unfased by the event and stated "I'm not fased he'll rise again to continue his search for the promised land, probably within the next 48 hours. A similar event happened when I battled the Beastie Boys a couple years ago, and they were resurrected once i defeated them and their giant robot. ".

Instead he says "Mommy and Daddy have some good news, our little family is about to get a little bigger" You smile and get excited and tell him how excited you are to be getting a sibling..but he walks you outside and shows you a fucken minture yorkshire terrier..fuck i hate those dogs...their nature's favorite joke actually...

Anyway its not that day for us (Thank God, not again). Instead today the loving Fatchineseparents (Me and Barry) are proud to welcome two sweet little ginger boys onto the blog to slap some sweet musical justice upon your asses...But ok there not gingers, but we can dream OK...Today we welcome the talents of Belushi and Lapse. Forming our so-called Cape Town crew of sorts. These two very talented individuals who rave all night and blog all day, are our new two favorite people in the whole wide South Africa. together they drop some massive beats that make us rather happy...I felt it was very important to welcome these boi's myself so I have runn off set and now camped outside of the rock and roll MacDonald's in Sandton, with a rented laptop, rocking the wireless. And are praying that they don't find me...
